i just had to learn too many things from scratch to do this is UDK, so, quite literally, i’ve gone back to the drawing board with AGS
Some prep work based on the earlier concept stuff:
I have to say that I’m all excited again about this and it’s become a labiour of love once more…. not a pain in the arse as it was becoming.
Until next time… hopefully not another year or so, though =)
just buggering about trying to boil down the characters to their most recognizable shapes.
and….. yeah, i’m going to add diddy-little bodies as a side project =))))
Okaaaaaaay, I want the game to be fun to play and trying to model the characters in a full-on realsitic style is kind of serious. Sort of grown up and, well…. that’s not what i want. I’d like it to look fun so these loose character sketches will form the basis of the cartoon-ish crew.
Until next time =)
Right.. so, this is getting serious now.. i mean, look at it. It looks like a proper game head and everything! It doesn’t, however, look a startling amount like Holly though, if i’m honest. I mirrored the head over and it looked really strange. Like, Japanese Human Robot strange. All symmetrical and creepy.
My next thought is to take this low poly version into ZBrush as base mesh and make it lovely and asymmetrical. Give him that early Lovett slalom course nose and fasntastic uneven eyes.
Man, has Norman Lovett’s face got character! I just hope i can actually do it justice.
So this is the High and Low Poly version of Bob. It was made shortly after the first set model and i rigged and even butchered an animation out of it too.
However, 2 years on i’ve pulled the rig out and am ready to make another one more suited to the game’s purpose. For now though, it’ll be put to one side as being modeled and yet to rig.
